Palm Pre Phone Due Out June 6th at Sprint and Others

So, the Palm Pre finally has an official release date – that date being June 6th – and a price – $199.99 with $100 rebate.

Although being ‘offered exclusively from Sprint’ the Palm Pre phone will be available nationwide in the US from Sprint as well as Best Buy, Radio Shack, select Wal-Mart stores and online at Sprint.com. The price will be $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate.

A bunch of Palm Pre accessories will also be available from June 6th including the Palm Touchstone charging dock (priced at $49.99) and Touchstone back cover ($19.99). You will also be able to get these together in the Touchstone Charging Kit for $69.99 – though it appears this will cost you $0.01 more, so perhaps that pricing isn’t quite right yet (though it comes straight from Sprint!).

The claims for the Palm Pre are pretty impressive with the new webOS and associated Palm Synergy providing synchronized contacts, calender, email etc into one centralized view. The Palm webOS also lets you keep multiple activities open and move easily between them like flipping through a deck of cards. You can move back and forth between text messaging and e-mail, or search the web while you listen to music. You can rearrange items simply by dragging them, and when you are done with something, just throw it away by flicking it off the top of the screen.

Naturally the Palm Pre will also provide access to all of the exclusive content on the Sprint Now Network, including Navigation, TV and NASCAR.
